THROUGH CHANGING SEASONS

A Thoughtful Approach to Change

A woman’s life holds many beginnings, and menopause arrives within a story already rich with them. Yet its changes can be deeply personal: an unexpected flush of warmth, sleep interrupted, the discovery that familiar routines no longer feel quite the same. There is value in giving these experiences the attention they deserve.

TRIOMPHE brings together soy isoflavones, studied for their potential to reduce hot flashes and night sweats, and hops—Humulus lupulus—traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to help relieve nervousness and promote sleep.

Their pairing reflects a thoughtful approach to this transition, attentive to both daytime discomfort and the need for rest. An invitation to make room for changing needs, with the same care we bring to everything else that matters.

THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME

A New Chapter, Fully Yours

Triomphe is the French word for triumph—a name chosen to honour the strength and resilience of women as they enter a new chapter of life.

Menopause is experienced differently by every woman. It may bring discomfort, questions and unfamiliar changes, alongside an opportunity to reconsider her needs and make more room for herself.

The name TRIOMPHE holds these experiences together: an acknowledgement of the challenges, and a celebration of the woman navigating them. Its meaning leaves room for something deeply personal—the freedom to define this chapter in her own way, at her own pace.

THE ESSENCE WITHIN

The Harmony of Soy and Hops

The character of TRIOMPHE begins with two different parts of the plant: the seed of soy and the flowering cones of hops. Each holds a distinctive composition, bringing its own chemical identity to the formulation.

Within the seeds of Glycine max, isoflavones form a particular family of naturally occurring compounds. Among their principal forms are genistein, daidzein and glycitein, which also occur bound to sugar molecules as glycosides.

These differences may seem subtle, yet they matter when defining an extract.

A GLIMPSE INTO HISTORY

In the fourth century BCE, Aristotle described the natural cessation of menstruation in History of Animals, a work exploring animal life, including human physiology. More than two millennia later, in 1821, French physician Charles de Gardanne introduced the term menopause, giving a name to a stage of life that had been observed for centuries.

During the nineteenth century, hops had also found a place in European herbal traditions. Their aromatic cones were tucked into pillows or prepared for medicinal use to ease restlessness and encourage sleep. In 1854, Jonathan Pereira documented these practices in The Elements of Materia Medica and Therapeutics, although their results were not always consistent.

It would be more than a century later, in 1999, that researchers identified a naturally occurring compound in hops, 8-prenylnaringenin, with estrogenic activity in laboratory studies, bringing this familiar botanical into a new area of scientific investigation.

From ancient observations to modern discoveries, the history of women's health continues to evolve, reminding us that understanding the human body requires both scientific curiosity and a sustained commitment to the women whose experiences shape the questions we seek to answer.

BEYOND THE EXTRACT

From Botany to Physiology

Menopause is experienced in daily life, but its changes unfold at the level of cells and signals. Shifting hormone levels can influence temperature regulation, while sleep and a sense of calm may also become more elusive.

TRIOMPHE brings soy isoflavones and hops into this physiological context, each with its own chemistry and a distinct place in research and herbal practice.

As the capsule dissolves in the digestive tract, soy isoflavones and the constituents of hops are released. Their absorption and transformation by the body help shape how they interact with biological pathways.

The weight of a soy extract alone does not reveal how much of its composition consists of isoflavones. Their concentration and chemical forms provide a more informative measure. Health Canada expresses these quantities as Aglycone Isoflavone Equivalents, or AIE—a common reference that accounts for the different molecular weights of the forms present.

This distinction allows the isoflavone content to be described with greater precision, beyond the total quantity of extract.

Hops—Humulus lupulus—offers another botanical vocabulary.

Its female flowering cones, known as strobiles, contain bitter acids, aromatic constituents and prenylated flavonoids. Among these flavonoids are xanthohumol and 8-prenylnaringenin, compounds that have drawn scientific attention to the chemistry of hops.

Their presence forms part of a broader composition. The proportions found in a preparation depend on the plant material and the methods used to process it; the name of the botanical alone cannot describe every detail of the resulting ingredient.

For TRIOMPHE, soy isoflavone extract and hops bring these distinct identities into one formulation. The seed and the flowering cone each contribute a different expression of plant chemistry, giving substance to the alliance at the heart of the product.

Soy isoflavones are described as phytoestrogens: plant-derived compounds capable of interacting with estrogen receptors. These receptors participate in the signalling through which estrogen influences tissues throughout the body.

The term does not mean that isoflavones are identical to the body’s estrogen or that they replace it. Their activity depends on factors including their molecular structure, metabolism and the tissues in which they act.

This relationship has prompted research into their use for menopausal symptoms. Health Canada’s soy isoflavone monograph includes the qualified indication that specified preparations may reduce severe and frequent symptoms, such as hot flashes and night sweats.

Hops—Humulus lupulus—adds another dimension to the formulation.

Its traditional use in Herbal Medicine centres on helping relieve nervousness and aiding sleep. Researchers have also investigated the biological activity of its constituents, including their interactions with the nervous system, although the mechanisms underlying its calming use remain incompletely understood.

Hops also contains prenylated flavonoids, including 8-prenylnaringenin, whose estrogen-receptor activity has attracted scientific attention. This remains a distinct area of investigation, with findings tied to the compounds and preparations studied.

Within TRIOMPHE, the meeting of these ingredients reflects attention to several aspects of the menopausal experience: disruptive symptoms, the need for rest, and the importance of feeling more at ease.

One formulation, considered around the ways this period of change can be felt.
